Buffalo King: bonus symbols and a very wide range
The original calls its trigger symbol a bonus symbol. The game page says that landing between three and six of them starts the feature with a number of free spins that runs from eight up to 100. The 2020 release puts it more simply: three golden bonus symbols at once start the free spins. A retrigger needs two to six further bonus symbols and adds between five and 100 extra spins, so a single round can grow long. The sources do not list which symbol count maps to which spin total, so we do not give a table.
Buffalo King Megaways: scatters, prizes and a purchase
Here the Free Game starts with four or more scatters. The release says four, five or six scatters pay a prize of 5x, 20x or 100x the total bet, and the game page links that count to 12 to 22 free spins. Three or more scatters during the round add five more spins, and the game page notes that the retrigger has no limit. The 2021 release also says a player can buy the Free Game before a spin for 100 times the bet. The sources do not say whether buying is offered at every operator, so check the game itself.
Buffalo King Untamed Megaways: three tiers
The 2024 game starts its bonus with four, five or six scatters, awarding 10, 15 or 20 spins. During the round, three or more scatters bring additional spins, in a range of five to 20. The release does not mention a purchase option, so none should be assumed.
Why it matters for a player
The differences are easy to miss. One game rewards three symbols, the others ask for four, and the retrigger rules range from a capped bonus of five spins to a wide band of up to 100. A bought feature saves waiting for the symbols but costs the stated 100 times the bet, and it is still a stake, not a shortcut around the long-run nature of the game.
