Noah: That huge buffalo symbol is easily my favourite part. The whole thing has an older look, sure, but the reels are clear and I like that.
Ingrid: Nice touch with the mesa wild symbols. They fit the landscape instead of looking pasted on. I also like that the bonus can build up over several spins rather than resetting instantly.
JoaoM: I like the tumbling set up and how it changes the shape of the reels. The background is a little dark for my taste, but I can still follow the combinations without trouble.
Camila F.: The prairie art is lovely and the wild feature has a clear logic to it. Not a huge fan of how crowded the reels can look, but the overall design has a lot of character.
AlexStorm: Good idea with the wild multipliers growing during free spins. The reels look crowded at times, though. I'd honestly prefer a cleaner screen.
Buffalo King is a prairie-themed online slot series from Pragmatic Play. The first game arrived on 9 January 2020 with wolves, eagles and elk around a stacked-buffalo mechanic, and the studio has since returned to the plains twice with Megaways versions.
Three: Buffalo King Megaways (29 April 2021), Buffalo King (9 January 2020) and Buffalo King Untamed Megaways (20 June 2024). All are online slots from Pragmatic Play, and each version page on this site has a free demo. Browse them together on the games page.
The original pays across 4,096 ways to win, and buffalo symbols can stack on the reels. Landing 3 to 6 golden bonus symbols starts 8 to 100 free spins, during which wilds carry 2x, 3x or 5x multipliers that stack if several join one win. The Megaways versions swap the fixed ways for a changing count and add tumbling wins.
Pragmatic Play is a licensed supplier: the footer of its own website names PragmaticPlay (Gibraltar) Limited as licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, account number 56015, and by the Gibraltar Licensing Authority, RGL No. 107. This site is independent and does not host the games, so the casino you choose must be checked separately for a licence valid where you live.
Pragmatic Play’s game pages print 96.52% for Buffalo King Megaways, 96.06% for Buffalo King and 96.02% for Buffalo King Untamed Megaways. The spread is only half a point, and none of the figures says how one session will go. Operators may configure settings, so the in-game info screen shows the number actually in use.
No. Every spin is settled by the game’s random number generator, so the time on the clock plays no part. Choose a moment when you can keep to your budget and your time limit.
No. Your spin is worked out on its own, apart from every other player’s. The number of people logged in has no bearing on what lands on your reels.
No. A slot does not record what other players received and does not balance payouts between them. Someone else’s large win leaves your next spin untouched.
No, believing so is the gambler’s fallacy. Earlier spins do not shape later ones, so a long wait for the bonus symbols brings the feature no closer. RTP is an average over a very large number of spins, not a schedule for a single session.
RTP stands for return to player: the share of wagers a game is designed to give back across a huge number of spins. A value such as 96.52% is a long-run average and says nothing certain about your own play. The same game can be set up differently by different operators, so check the info screen where you play.
Pragmatic Play’s 2021 press release calls Buffalo King Megaways highly volatile, and it did not publish a volatility level for the other two. For Buffalo King Untamed Megaways the provider quotes max wins of up to 10,000x, with wild multipliers that grow during free spins. A figure like that is a ceiling, not something to expect in ordinary play.
No. The chance of landing a winning combination is not linked to the size of your stake; only the payout scales with it. Pick a bet that suits your budget rather than one you hope will tilt the odds.
The demo runs on play money, so it suits learning the wild multipliers, tumbles and bonus triggers without risk. It cannot predict or improve later results, because each real-money round is independent.
